05. Goals

Brad Sugars explains the process of setting goals and putting together a system to consistently attain those goals. Brad breaks down the three different types of goals people should strive for – Negative, Positive and Outside. Negative Goals are goals that get you out of a negative situation – an example is “I don’t want to be broke.” Brad explains that Negative Goals are weak because once you are out of the problem, there is nowhere to move onto. However Negative Goals serve their purpose at the time in order to get you to the next level. Positive Goals are things people want in their lives – experiences, personal traits, possessions. Positive Goals are medium-term, solid goals that motivate and move people forward. Outside Goals are goals that are about other people, not just yourself. In order to keep from stagnating in life it is important to continue to create bigger challenges in goal-setting.
